A second line parade is a vibrant and joyous tradition often seen in New Orleans. It is typically done after weddings and consists of the “first line” which is made-up of the couple and bridal party and the “second line” which is made-up of the guests who join behind them. Accompanied by their musicians playing lively jazz music, they danced, twirled parasols, and wore masks. The couple included a Wine Box and Love Letter Ceremony in their wedding. Their box was crafted by Samantha’s parents, Donald and Sharon. They placed a bottle of wine, a copy of their wedding vows and two small books containing a love letter to the other written prior to their ceremony. The couple will not read the letters until their first anniversary. On their 1st anniversary, they will drink the wine, renew their vows, and read the letters contained in their books. After their anniversary, they will replenish the box and continue with the tradition each year.

Having met overseas, pre-covid, while living in Malaysia, once their work was done, Stephanie traveled back to the USA, and Alex traveled back to Uzbekistan. Remaining apart from 2020 to early 2024, it was difficult for them as you can imagine. Their love for each endured the distance, however, they dreamed of the day when good-byes would become good morning and they would never again need to be separated. June 10, 2024 was indeed that day. His father added 2 beautiful stones to that ring, one of which is in Rachel’s engagement ring, the other of which is in Brenan’s wedding band. The third stone will be kept for his brother, Pat. This was important to Brenan and Rachel in memory of Brenan’s father who passed away 7 years ago.
